Before you begin

If you are upgrading from a previous version of EDAP Tools, make sure you uninstall that old version first.
To perform that deinstallation, use the instructions that came with that particular version you have.
If you are missing those, doing it from EDAPT Control Panel should be the best option.

Installation

---

1. Make sure you unzip the downloaded package, keeping the folder structure.
2. Start Flash or Animate. Make sure you have no documents open
3. From Commands menu choose Run Command...
   Browse and point to Install-Uninstall EDAPT.jsfl (inside the EDAPT folder) and press Open
   
   
   An Install/Uninstall dialog box will appear.
   
   Flash 8 only

   
   In Flash 8 only you need to browse and point to the folder called Source_Files inside the unzipped EDAPT installation folder.
4. Choose Install EDAP Tools and press OK.
   You will get a message that files have been installed successfully and the program will shut down after a confirmation.
5. Restart Flash / Animate so that EDAP Tools can initialize.

Upon successful installation after the restart you will see the Welcome to EDAP Tools message

• EDAP Tools commands will appear in the Commands menu
• SMR Helpers panel will appear under
  Window > Other Panels (Extensions in Animate) > SMR Helpers
• Smart Magnet Rig panel will appear under
  Window > Other Panels (Extensions in Animate) > Smart Magnet Rig
• Smart Graphic Control panel will appear under
  Window > Other Panels (Extensions in Animate) > SGC1
• Symbol Palette Control panel will appear under
  Window > Other Panels (Extensions in Animate) > Symbol Palette Control
• EDAPT Commands panel will appear under
  Window > Other Panels (Extensions in Animate) > EDAPT Commands
• KineFlex (SMR Tool) will appear* in the tools palette next to or below Free Transform tool
• FreeStyle Rigging (SMR Tool) will appear* in the tools palette grouped with KineFlex

* Please note: In Animate 2020 and newer click on "..." at the bottom of the toolbar, select KineFlex and the FreeStyle Rigging in the pool of tools and drag them to a desired location.

EDAPT Shortcuts

Activate the EDAPT Shortcuts by choosing:

• Windows:
  Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts… and from the Current Set drop-down menu EDAPT Shortcuts
  
• Mac:
  Flash > Keyboard Shortcuts… and from the Current Set drop-down menu EDAPT Shortcuts

Deinstallation

Before you begin make sure you have no documents open

Go to Commands > EDAPT Control Panel or press [ Alt+0 ].
When EDAPT Control Panel appears, click on the Uninstall EDAPT button at the bottom left of the dialog box. Then follow the prompts.

Flash / Animate will be closed and the EDAPT Uninstaller will remove the tools.
